Uniform Policy

MADIBA PREP Middle School is a uniform school. All scholars are expected to give proper attention to personal cleanliness and to dress according to the MADIBA PREP Middle School uniform policy. Scholars and their parents have the primary responsibility for acceptable scholar dress and appearance. Teachers and staff will exemplify and reinforce acceptable scholar dress and help them develop an understanding of the appropriate appearance as Madiba scholars.

All scholars must come to school daily in the complete Madiba uniform. If a scholar arrives to school out of uniform, parents/guardians will be notified, and scholars will be permitted to attend class in a temporary uniform until a parent/family member arrives with their complete/correct uniform.

Scholars may not change out of the MADIBA PREP uniform at any point during the school day. Uniforms are to be worn Monday-Friday (No exceptions). The gym uniform and daily uniform must be purchased by you. Rubber soled shoes are best. Sneakers are acceptable. Absolutely No Crocs or Slide/Sandals are permitted to be worn in the building.

• White or Black Polo Shirt (long or short-sleeved with logo) (8th Grade Only)
• Gold or Burgundy Polo shirt (long-or short-sleeved w/logo) (6th & 7th Grade)
• Black or Khaki pants, skirt or trousers (No jeans or sweatpants; purchase from Cookie’s Uniform Store or other retailer)
• Burgundy cardigan sweater (w/logo)
• Pullover sweater (w/logo)

GYM Uniforms:

• Burgundy Madiba T-shirt & shorts (set)
• Sweatpants (optional)
• Sneakers

Please read the statement below:

I understand that MADIBA PREP Middle School is a uniform school, and I want my child to participate fully in the professional culture of the school by wearing the uniform. I understand that, if my child wears the uniform consistently she/he will be eligible to participate in school trips, outside partnership activities and other academic and non-academic opportunities that extend beyond our school building. ALSO BE AWARE THAT WEARING THE SCHOOL UNIFORM IS FOR OUR SCHOLAR’S SAFETY AS WELL. When wearing uniform, we can readily identify our scholars within the school building and outside of the building, particularly when participating in school trips.
